Single Review: Mariah’s comebacks are infinite on “Infinity”

Indeed there are no shortage of witty comebacks to takeaway from Mariah Carey’s latest single, “Infinity.” The soulful mid-tempo coalesces an array of biting one-liners for an unnamed ex – though the implications are nothing short of blatant. Aside from being shade-filled, the song boasts a catchy, relatable chorus as well as a varied and versatile vocal from Ms. Carey. She showcases multiple sides of her famed voice on “Infinity.” As if the lyrics weren’t enough, the vocals will certainly have folks singing Mimi’s praises as well.

Hopefully “Infinity,” the lead single from her hits collection #1 to Infinity, can prove to be yet another hit for Carey to add to her resume. Following the disappointing success of the singles that followed the hit “#Beautiful” from her 2014 masterpiece, Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse, it’s no secret that Mariah is in need of a hit to revive her name at radio. “Infinity” has what it takes to be that single – if her new home can make things Epic for the diva as their name suggests.
