Pharrell Williams claims the best selling song of 2014: “Happy” has sold 6.45 million downloads this year. It is the 21st best selling digital single of all time.

With 326,000 copies sold this week Taylor Swift’s 1989 is officially the best selling album of 2014 (3,661,000 total). It beats the Frozen Soundtrack by about 134,000 copies (64,000 sold this week; 3,527,000 total).

The top 10 albums of 2014 all sold at least 800k copies in total, with only 4 titles crossing the 1 million mark. Last year the entire top 10 had sold at least a million copies.

Nicki Minaj’s “Trufle Butter” (featuring Drake & Lil Wayne) is the top debut at #38. Among the other new entries is D’Angelo’s “Really Love” at #45, his first entry on the chart in 14 years.
