Taylor Swift may be #2 on the Hot 100, but she’s the artist with the #1 and #2 best selling songs in the US this week. The promotional track “Out of the Woods” released ahead of its upcoming parent album, 1989, debuts at#1 on Hot Digital Songs with 195,000 units sold. Taylor Swift had been the last lead artist to achieve this feat in 2012 with her songs “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Ronan.”

The Country duo Florida Georgia Line grabs their first #1 album, with the set selling 197,000 copies to land on top of the albums chart. Another duo, You+Me, lands a top 5 debut with their first effort (50,000 sold).
The much criticised Songs of Innocence by U2 only sold 28,000 copies in its first week of retail availabilty. The album had previously been distributed for free to all iTunes consumers via a marketing deal the band signed with Apple. A limited number of vinyl copies were also distributed early last week to ensure the album would be eligible for the 2015 Grammy Awards.
