The release of the gruesome “Animals” music video helped Maroon 5 climb to the top 10 with the second single from their latest album. The track sold 115,000 downloads with a 121% increase (#5 on Hot Digital Songs). “Animals” is also the band’s 10th top 10 Hot 100 hit.

With the release of his latest projects, the legendary Prince earns two top 10 debuts and he becomes the first artist to achieve two simultaneous top 10 debuts in over a decade, since Nelly debuted at #1 and #2 with his albums Suit and Sweat in 2004. Prince’s albums sold 77,000 units collectively this week.

T.I. returns to the top 10 of the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart after 4 years.

In related R&B news, Aretha Franklin’s cover of “Rolling In The Deep” is the Queen of Soul’s 100th entry on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart this week. She is the first female to place 100 entries on the chart, which has undergone lots of notable changes over the course of its 56 years history. The #47 debut of her latest single places her in 4th place among all acts for the most entries on the chart: she’s behind Lil Wayne (135), Jay-Z (127) and James Brown (111). Aretha first entered in 1960 with her single “Today I Sing the Blues.”
