Sia jumps to #8 this week with her fourth top 10 hit (the second as a lead act). “Cheap Thrills” has now matched the peak of “Chandelier,” but could easily best it in the coming weeks as it’s growing fast on all the Hot 100 components. In addition, the song becomes Sean Paul’s first top 10 appearence since 2010. The solo version of “Cheap Thrills” gives a nice contribution to the song’s overall success, however the remixed version is the track getting the most traction, including higher sales.

Billboard 200

01. (01) Drake – VIEWS (*7 weeks*)
02. (–) Nick Jonas – Last Year Was Complicated
03. (13) Broadway Cast – Hamilton: An American Musical

05. (–) Jon Bellion – The Human Condition

08. (11) Adele – 25
09. (09) Blake Shelton – If I’m Honest
10. (14) Chris Stapleton – Traveller

While Drake’s Billboard 200 reign continues, making him the first male artist to spend 7 weeks at #1 since Eminem did so 16 years ago, the more newsworthy story of the week comes from Broadway. The Hamilton cast jumps to #3 after winning 11 Tony Awards for the musical. The recording sold 45,000 copies this week and is the first to reach the top 10 since The Book of Mormon hit #3 in 2011 (following the Tony Awards).

Nick Jonas also debuts at #2 with his new album, Last Year Was Complicated. This is his highest peak, following the #6 debut of his 2014 self-titled album and the #3 peak of Who I Am (2010). The album sold 47,000 copies this week.
