Kendrick Lamar rules the Billboard 200 with his second album. With 324,000 copies sold this week To Pimp a Butterfly is both his biggest sales debut and his highest peak. Kendrick’s first album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, had debuted and peaked at #2 (behind Taylor Swift’s Red) with 241,000 copies sold in 2010.

The Empire Soundtrack holds at #2 with 89,000 copies sold, down only 19% from last week. The record-breaking series’ first season wrapped on March 18 and Fox TV has renewed it for a second season.

Fetty Wap is this week’s Greatest Gainer with a 10-4 jump. The Weeknd earns his first top 10 hit on the chart with “Earned It.” His previous entries, “Wicked Games” and “Often,” had both peaked much lower at #21 and #44 respectively.
