On the charts: Week ending 03/18

This week’s top 10 songs and albums on the Billboard charts (04/02 issue).

Hot 100

02. (02) Justin Bieber – “Love Yourself”
03. (05) Lukas Graham – “7 Years”
04. (03) twenty one pilots – “Stressed Out”

08. (08) Justin Bieber – “Sorry”
09. (09) DNCE – “Cake By the Ocean”
10. (–) Ariana Grande – “Dangerous Woman”

“7 Years” continues its climb of the Hot 100 reaching a new peak of #3 this week. It’s still the best selling song in the US, with 125,000 downloads shifted this week.

At #10 Ariana Grande makes her debut with “Dangerous Woman,” the lead single and title track from her upcoming album. The song sold 118,000 downloads in its first week, a slightly better result than that of her last single, “Focus” (113,000), which debuted at #7. That song is no longer included on the album after its weak commercial performance, but is instead relegated to bonus track status for the Japanese edition.

Billboard 200
01. (03) Rihanna – ANTI (*2 weeks*)
02. (02) Adele – 25
03. (05) Justin Bieber – Purpose
04. (06) Joey+Rory – Hymns
05. (01) Kendrick Lamar – untitled unmastered.
06. (–) Killswitch Engage – Incarnate

08. (08) twenty one pilots – Blurryface
09. (10) Kevin Gates – Islah
10. (–) Flatbush Zombies – 3001: A Laced Odyssey

ANTI returns to #1 for a second non-consecutive week while setting the record for the lowest sales figure ever for a #1 album: 17,000 copies sold. The inclusion of sales equivalent streams on the Billboard 200, however, allows the #10 best selling album in the country to claim the top position.

Hymns by the Country duo Joey+Rory is in reality the best seller of the week, with 44,000 copies sold. While that’s not a notable figure either,  it is actually closer to previous records established as the lowest selling #1. The album is up 6-4 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay
01. (01) Rihanna – “Work” ft. Drake (*3 weeks*)
02. (02) Bryson Tiller – “Don’t”
