“Closer” continues to dominate the Hot 100 despite posting the lowest digital sales figure for a #1 in 10 years. With 84,000 downloads sold this week, it marks the first time since 2006 that the #1 track on the Digital Songs chart hasn’t reached the 100,000 treshold when Hinder’s “Lips of an Angel” sold 75,000 downloads.

Digital sales have dropped by 26% this year thus far. Last year, the total amount of digital downloads sold was down 13%.

Lady Gaga’s Joanne debuts at #1 and gives the Pop star her 4th #1 album. With 170,000 copies sold the album exceeded all expectations and showed a strong performance, thanks also to a focused promo blitz. Lady Gaga is now the first female with 4 #1 albums in the current decade

Michael Bublé arrives at #2 with Nobody But Me, his 7th top 10 album (85,000 copies sold). Korn’s The Serenity of Suffering debuts at #4 (55,000 sold), Chris Tomlin’s Never Lose Sight is new at #6 (30,000 copies sold) and Leonard Cohen closes the top 10 with You Want It Darker (24,000 in sales).

The last issue of October also brings some holiday cheer with A Pentatonix Christmas debuting at #3 with 52,000 copies sold. The vocal group’s 3rd Christmas-themed release is their 6th top 10 title. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra also makes a debut at #9 with The Ghosts of Christmas Eve, which sold 27,000 copies.
